I am the founder of the Law Office of Dahlia Castillo and principal lawyer of the firm. My priority is to secure a future for my clients by helping them obtain legal status, so they can remain in the United States.
As an immigration lawyer, I understand intimately the immigration process. I know how overwhelming the process is because my family and I have gone through the process. I was born in Jamaica and came to the United States with my family seeking the American dream. My legal training and personal experience as an immigrant have given me the knowledge necessary to help my clients navigate through the immigration process.
I represent clients in Immigration Courts across the United States to secure immigration bonds and defend against deportation.
I also represent clients before the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA) and U.S. Consulates abroad. I have represented thousands of clients applying for residency, waivers (601/601A, J-1, 212), Special Immigrant Juvenile visas, VAWA, DACA, naturalization, citizenship, waivers, asylum, employment green cards, T-Visas and U-Visas.
I also represent clients charged with traffic violations, facing criminal charges and family law matters in Cumberland, Harnett and Wake County. For an immigrant criminal defendant, pleading guilty or going to trial can make the difference of staying in the United States or being deported. I am not afraid to go to trial when a guilty plea will result in deportation.
I am always looking for ways to maximize my client relationship with clients. I did when I participated in a month-long Spanish language immersion program in Puebla, Mexico. As result, I am conversational in Spanish.
